Bad Filing |
Attorney |
Jason Edge |
|

The court records even showed that client had a previous DUI conviction a few years earlier. Jason refused to even accept the court records as truth, without first investigating for himself. Upon conducting extensive searches into archived records, Jason found that the court records contained a typo. In fact, the previous charge was not a DUI, but was a DWI. This minor distinction proved very important. Jason correctly argued that a DWI is not the same as a DUI under Oklahoma law, and that the State could not use a DWI to make client current charge a felony. The State was forced to amend the old records, and the felony charge was dismissed. |
